The story goes as below, "once Saint narada went to Lord Brahma and Lord Brahma said that the would is shrouded in Lord Vishnu Illusion (Maya), Narada challenged that he could escape this illusion. When asked to leave by Lord Brahma, Narada going around the world came to sarparavaram to find a beautiful lake. Narada wanted to take a bath and when he took the dip, he turned into a beautiful lady and forget all his past. She was looking for a mate, at the same time, Nakunda young prince of Pithapuram came there for hunting. fell in love with here and married. in course of time, she gave birth to 60 sons namely prabhava, vibhava etc ( the name of the Hindu years ). Once king Ripunjaua invaded pithapuram and in the battle, all sons of the lady along with her husband died. The lady hearing the tragic news with grief wanted to end her life. Lord vishnu then appeared before her in form of holy brahma, hearing her tale asked to take another dip in the lake. She had the dip and then she become narada again. Narada could know the happenings and prayed Lord Vishnu to
forgive him.

Lord Vishnu then declared the lake as Mukti kasara (lake of salvation). Saint Narada installed the Lord here. he has since then come to be known as "bhavanarayana".
